3. Homeroom
teachers will be team organizers/sponsors and will assist the team daily. All teachers will serve on the Money Drop
committee and will be responsible for setting up, officiating, keeping score,
clean-up, etc.
4. Tuesday
– September 23rd. The Money Drop / Homecoming Kick-off Dance will be Monday
evening from 6-8pm. All teachers are
encouraged to attend as chaperones. $3 =
300 pts. Each team / homecoming
representative can sell refreshments or novelty items, also.
5. We
will need buckets for your money droppers.
Make sure your name is on the bucket so we may return it to you.
6. General Money Dropping Rules –
- All pennies, cash and checks count as positive points for your team.
A penny is one point – one dollar
is 100 points - $10 is 1000 points, and so on. These points go toward your
team’s grand total. Tuesday is DOUBLE $5
bill day and Thursday is DOUBLE Check day.
- All silver coins count as negative points and can be dropped on other teams to cancel out their positive points. On Wednesday, all silver change is DOUBLE NEGATIVE.
The Team with the overall winning number of points will be
provided a special prize at the conclusion of the event. The current idea is to take the winning team
to the Jasper Bowling Center
and provide pizza.
The daily winning team will be rewarded daily team
prizes/treats. Current suggestion is to provide an afternoon break where
students will be given ice cream/popsicles.
I am also suggesting that the school provide a special
extended duty free lunch for all teachers that dress up and participate each
day during money drop. Also the top
participating teacher that is selected by vote of the faculty would receive a
personal day.
PEP RALLY /ACTIVITY PLANS
Monday Sept. 22 Plans
– “Merica Monday” – All students and faculty members are encouraged to wear
patriotic clothing to support the money drop.
The pep rally/activities will feature a limbo contest, hula hoop
contest, and money machine (?). Please
go ahead and get your limbo participants (8 per grade). The limbo winner will win 20,000 points. We will also need four different students for
the hula hoop contest. We need an
additional student and one teacher from each grade for the money machine (?). We will decorate assigned hallways or areas
on this day. Teams will be rewarded
points for decorations.
Tuesday Sept. 23 Plans
– “Class Color Day” – All students and faculty members are encouraged to wear selected
colored clothing to support the money drop.
This is the only day that students are allowed to paint their hair or
wear face paint (each team has their own rules concerning this). The pep rally/activities will several fun relay
activities. We will need four girls and
four boys from each grade for the relays. We will need another two girls and
two boys, as well as an additional student and teacher.
Wednesday Sept. 24
Plans – “Superhero/Character Day” – All students and faculty members are
encouraged to dress as their favorite character to support the money drop. The pep rally/activities will be held in the
gym. The activity for the day will be announced
later. All silver change dropped on
other teams will count DOUBLE NEGATIVE!
Thursday Sept. 25 Plans
– “Senior Citizen Day” – All students and faculty members are encouraged to
dress as the elderly. The pep rally will feature several competitions for
“senior citizens.” Thursday is double
check day. All checks dropped in the
teams’ bucket will count for double points on this day.
Also, this is the big day that students may join together in
groups of two to enter a team in the “Big Money” contest. A team of two students
may pool their checks and cash together as a team. The top six teams with the
highest dollar contribution (in checks and cash) will get a significant reward
(Nice lunch away from school and transportation provided in a stretch hummer
limo). Teams will meet with money in
hand before school on Thursday to enter this event. Winning teams will be
announced after the pep rally that day.
We will choose the team that dresses up and participates
most each day. Teams will be rewarded
points. Also, each grade will pick two
students to enter the best dressed competition each day. A winner will be selected as the best dressed
and will receive a reward, mostly likely a gift certificate to a restaurant
such as cick-fil-a.
WE NEED PARENT
VOLUNTEERS! Parents are welcome
to come for the pep rally. Involving the
parents and having them get into the “hype” will bring in more money.
MORE PLANS FOR OTHER CONTESTS WILL COME SOON
